The Supply Directorate in Beheira Governorate announced the issuance of 28 violation reports against several municipal bakeries in Kafr El-Dawar and Itay El-Baroud during intensive inspection campaigns aimed at regulating operations and ensuring the quality of subsidized bread.
Mohamed Ragab Hedia, Deputy Minister of Supply in Beheira, explained that this campaign is part of a comprehensive plan targeting intensified monitoring of municipal bakeries to ensure their compliance with supply and production standards. The violations recorded included producing underweight bread, failure to adhere to general cleanliness standards of kneading tools, and operating outside official working hours, which constitutes a clear breach of the conditions for operating subsidized bakeries.
Hedia pointed out that the issued reports were referred to the public prosecution to take the necessary legal actions against the violators, confirming that the inspection campaigns will continue across various centers and cities of the governorate in coordination with the relevant regulatory authorities to limit any violations that affect citizens’ rights or the quality of subsidized bread, which is one of the essential goods in the life of the Egyptian citizen.
These campaigns come within the state’s approach to tighten market and bakery monitoring to ensure fairness in distributing supply subsidies and providing a quality product worthy of the Egyptian citizen. The campaigns are also part of a broader strategic plan aimed at combating supply corruption and confronting any attempts to manipulate the subsidy quota allocated to citizens.
Supply officials emphasize that effective bakery monitoring not only deters violators but also contributes to improving performance efficiency within the supply system, positively reflecting on the quality of service provided to citizens and enhancing public trust in regulatory institutions.
The Deputy Minister concluded his statement by affirming that Beheira Governorate continues to implement comprehensive and organized inspection plans, focusing on all centers of the governorate, noting that citizens are essential partners in these efforts by reporting any violations noticed when receiving subsidized bread to ensure the sustainability of a fair and integrated system.
