The National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification explained to Okaz newspaper the designated camping sites in the Medina region, along with the requirements and fines for violators. The center identified 118 wild camping sites distributed across several locations, including Al-Bayda National Park, Aba Al-Joud Wild Park, Al-Qaa National Park, and 61 campsites in various forests such as Al-Sidara site in Badr region, Wadi Ghurab in Al-Hanakiyah, Al-Saddah in Wadi Al-Far’, Wadi Malal in Medina, and Jabal Adqas in Medina.

The National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification set conditions for issuing camping permits, general regulations, and procedures that define the practice of the activity.

Camping activity is prohibited without obtaining a permit, which is issued after payment of any applicable fees. The center issues the permit including the required conditions, and the permit holder must comply with the regulations, conditions, and justifications that authorize the person to submit the application, fill out the permit request form, and provide safety tools according to Civil Defense requirements, the national address, and national ID.

The permit holder has the right to rent out the campsite, and the center has the right to cancel the permit in case of violation of environmental laws or executive regulations. The center may also withdraw the permit if the data provided is inaccurate or false.

The permit holder must camp within the designated site, keeping away from highways, high-voltage power lines, and public service facilities such as telecommunications, electricity, oil, and fuel stations by at least 100 meters.

The maximum area for a single campsite is 2000 square meters, and camping duration does not exceed three months. A beneficiary is not allowed to obtain more than one campsite across all designated camping sites.

Parking vehicles in streets and passages is prohibited; parking must be inside the campsite with traffic signs placed accordingly.
