Walid Salah El-Din, the football director of Al Ahly, said that the Danish Jas Sorup, the new head coach, has a strong personality, noting that his decisions are strict and he excels in dealing with fans.

Walid Salah El-Din added in a televised statement: Jas Sorup is a very strong personality with strict decisions. We studied his CV well and asked European critics and journalists about him; he is a coach with a good reputation in Europe and knows how to deal with fans.

He continued: All the criteria we requested are met by the new coach, and we know he knows how to develop young players and handle pressure. Mancini, Vitoria, and Queiroz were among the candidates to coach Al Ahly, and we did not consider the return of Mosimane, Koller, or Failer.

He added: Vitoria apologized and preferred to rest, and Queiroz asked to wait until after his tenure with the Oman national team. The file of foreign players will be under the authority of the new Danish coach Jas Sorup because he is the decision-maker on any technical file.

On another note, Al Ahly is preparing to face the Burundian team Eagle Noir on October 18 at their stadium in the first leg of the round of 32 of the CAF Champions League, with the return match to be held in Cairo a week later.
