The former player of Al Wasl and Al Nasr clubs and newly joined United club, Swiss striker Haris Seferovic, revealed his ambition to lead his team United to win the current season’s First Division football league and promote to play in the ADNOC Pro League. He explained that he got to know the club’s ambitions and goals and decided to join to add a qualitative boost to his sports career.

Haris told Emarat Al Youm: “I had good offers from other well-known clubs, but I chose to play for United after learning about its goals and ambitions, in addition to the sporting environment the club enjoys.”

He continued: “United team has many distinguished capabilities, which makes our ambition to win the league and promote to the professional league realistic, but at the same time, great efforts and high focus await us to achieve this ambition.” He pointed out that “the club’s signing of the Italian legend Andrea Pirlo as the team’s coach encouraged me to join, and I am confident that I will learn a lot from him, and I am proud to train under his leadership.” He also mentioned that he met with the club president, the Russian Ily Sibiano, got to know his vision and how he thinks of him as a player, and was given high confidence in his ability to be an important part of the team.

Haris explained that he learned about the First Division league through friends who play in this league, but he will not think much about this, as he previously played in the professional league, focusing instead on his team and performance to achieve the ambition of winning the league title and promotion to the professionals. He also welcomed and encouraged any distinguished player to join the team.

He added: “The Swiss national team coach decided not to call me to play for the Swiss national team since I left playing in Europe, so I do not expect to be called up again through United club.”

Haris concluded: “All the best to the UAE White team in the World Cup qualifiers through the playoffs, and I have high confidence that they will be able to qualify through a distinguished group of players and an excellent coach.”
