Al Ahly team continues its group training today, Friday, at Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium, as part of preparations for the upcoming Egyptian League competitions and the opening matches of the CAF Champions League, which begins with a match against Eagle Noir Burundi in the first leg of the round of 32 of the CAF Champions League.

Al Ahly will host the decisive second leg match against Eagle Noir Burundi, which will determine the team advancing to the group stage of the Champions League, in Cairo on one of the days of October 24, 25, or 26.

Al Ahly, holder of the record for the most continental titles (11 titles), aims to pass this round and reach the group stage, beginning a new journey to reclaim the title lost in the previous edition.

Twenty-two Al Ahly players will miss the team’s preparations for the African campaign opener against Eagle Noir Burundi at their stadium in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League for various reasons.

Eight players are absent due to their presence with the Egypt national team: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Marwan Attia, Mahmoud Trézéguet, and Ahmed Sayed Zizo.

Three players are with the second national team led by Helmy Tolan: Mohamed Sherif, Yassin Marei, and Mohamed Magdy Afsha.

Additionally, four foreign players are with their national teams: Slovenian Nets Gradisar, Malian Aliou Dieng, Tunisian Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane, and Moroccan Achraf Bencharki.

Moreover, five players are injured: Ashraf Dari, Karim Fouad, Hussein El Shahat, Ahmed Reda, and Emam Ashour. Besides, the duo Mohamed Abdullah and Ahmed Abdeen are with the youth team and the Egyptian youth national team at the World Cup in Chile.

Thus, only seven players remain at the start of Al Ahly’s preparations for the African kickoff: Mohamed Seha, Mostafa El-Ash, Omar Kamal Abdelwahid, Ahmed Ramadan, Mohamed Shokry, Taher Mohamed Taher, and Hamza Abdel Karim.
