The Croatia national team is set to face an easy match against their guest Gibraltar at 9:45 PM today, Sunday, as part of the eighth round of Group 12 in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.

Croatia leads Group 12 in the qualifiers with 13 points, ahead on goal difference from the Czech Republic who have the same points, while Gibraltar is in fifth place with no points.

Croatia enters the match against Gibraltar with an impressive record in World Cup qualifiers, having not tasted defeat in their last 14 matches, achieving 11 wins and 3 draws.

They also managed to keep a clean sheet in 11 of those matches, reflecting the team’s strong defensive organization under coach Zlatko Dalić.

At home, the Croatian team has not lost in their last 14 World Cup qualifying matches (winning 11 and drawing 3) since their last defeat to Belgium (2-1) in October 2013, making them strong favorites to continue their dominance in the upcoming round.

On the other hand, Gibraltar’s numbers still reflect the difficulty of competing at this level, having lost all their previous 25 World Cup qualifying matches, in addition to losing all their 26 matches in the European Championship qualifiers, making them one of the weakest teams currently in the European scene.
