Sharjah: Al Khaleej

Arabic Scale Company, known for the “Diacritic Scale” (Miqyas Al-Dad), signed a partnership agreement with the Sharjah Private Education Authority to enhance cooperation in developing and improving the quality of Arabic language teaching in the emirate’s schools.

The agreement was signed by Ali Al Hosani, Director General of the Authority, and Dr. Aisha Al Yammahi, Board Member of the Diacritic Scale, in the presence of officials from both sides, on the sidelines of the Fourth International Forum for Arabic Teachers held under the slogan “Building and Elevation.”

The agreement aims to collaborate in raising the reading proficiency level of students in Sharjah by adopting the Diacritic Scale and gradually expanding its application as the first comprehensive Arab framework and standard for assessing text difficulty and measuring reading proficiency, based on precise scientific methodologies and innovative digital tools. The cooperation also includes conducting an extensive study to measure reading proficiency, diagnose educational gaps, and develop students’ reading fluency, positively impacting education quality and outcomes.

Ali Al Hosani affirmed that signing the agreement reflects the Authority’s commitment to adopting scientific tools and qualitative initiatives that contribute to developing Arabic language teaching in the emirate’s schools and enhancing students’ reading proficiency according to precise foundations and standards. Collaborating with specialized partners in assessment and evaluation is an important step toward improving learning outcomes and enhancing the performance of both students and teachers.

Dr. Aisha Al Yammahi said, “The agreement comes to consolidate cooperation with partners to support national efforts in developing Arabic language teaching by adopting an accurate standardized system that contributes to improving reading skills. It paves the way for building a pioneering national model, believing in its pivotal role in building knowledge and strengthening cultural identity.”
