Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the fourth time in its history after defeating Djibouti 3-0 in the match held today, Wednesday, at the Al Arabi Zouali Stadium in Morocco, as part of the ninth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The first goal came in the 8th minute after a precise cross from Zizo, which Ibrahim Adel headed into the net. In the 14th minute, Salah scored the second goal following a pass from Trezeguet behind Djibouti’s defenders. The Egyptian King sealed the third goal in the 84th minute after a long pass from Marwan Attia, which Salah received and scored by taking advantage of the goalkeeper’s advanced position.

Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the fourth time, topping Group A in the African qualifiers with 23 points from 9 matches, ahead of the upcoming final 10th round match against Guinea-Bissau, which the Pharaohs will play as a formality.

The FIFA International Football Federation set December 5 as the date for the 2026 World Cup draw, which will feature 48 teams for the first time in history, in the US capital, Washington.
