Producer Moussa Abu Taleb revealed behind-the-scenes details of the film ‘Asad’, describing it as a large-scale production requiring extensive preparation and rehearsals. The film takes us back to the period around 1800 with accurate costumes, decorations, and accessories. Preparations began over a year ago, with set designer Ahmed Faiz and a large team creating sets suitable for the historical period, filming across 15 locations in Cairo and other governorates. Costume designer Reem Al-Adl and her team prepared clothing and accessories for nearly 2000 people over six months. The film features many choreographed action scenes led by world-renowned fight choreographer Kaloyan Vodenicharov, training about 70 actors including 12 leads and guest stars from Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, and Sudan.
Directed by Mohamed Diab, written by Sherine Diab, Mohamed Diab, and Khaled Diab, with cinematography by Ahmed Beshary and music by Hisham Nazih, the film stars Mohamed Ramadan, Razan Jamal, Ali Qassem, Majid Al-Kadwani, Islam Mubarak, Ahmed Dash, and Kamel Al-Basha.
