The Luxor City Council, headed by Major General Dr. Ali Al-Sharabi, in coordination with the Luxor Traffic Police Department under the supervision of Major General Diaa Maher, carried out a major campaign to seize illegal horse-drawn carriages in Luxor.

The campaign resulted in the seizure of 2 illegal horse-drawn carriages, with the offenders detained and legal actions taken. The campaign involved Hatem Gaber, Secretary of Luxor City Council, Ahmed Abdel Sabour, Field Follow-up Manager, Osama Tawfiq, Slow Transport Manager at Luxor City Council, and Luxor Traffic Police officers.

Following directives from Engineer Abdel-Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, emphasizing the importance of improving cleanliness, beautification, and maintenance of open gardens, public parks, roads, and main squares in the governorate, the Luxor City Council continued efforts to upgrade green spaces and squares in Luxor. This was supervised by the Secretary of Luxor City and involved Engineer Jibril Hassan, Director of the General Administration of Gardens and Orchards. Maintenance, trimming, and waste removal were carried out in public gardens near the Franciscan School and Emilio Hotel in the central district, as well as ongoing maintenance of green areas, palm trees, and irrigation at King Abdullah Square gardens.

An intensive cleaning campaign was also conducted in the South and East districts of Luxor, including emptying all garbage containers, street sweeping, and removing accumulated waste and dust. The campaign targeted Fayez Abu Al-Naga, Jolie Ville, and Al-Qarariesh streets. Daily waste from collection points was removed, with about 20 tons of garbage and debris collected. Participants included the Secretary of Luxor City Council, Hassan Abdo, Head of South District, Mohamed Abdo, Deputy Head of the district, Mohamed Saeed Haddad, Head of East District, and Taie Mohamed Taie, Deputy Head of East District.

Additionally, under the directives of the political leadership and the patronage of the Governor of Luxor, the Mayor of Luxor, accompanied by the Secretary of Luxor City Council, followed up on the presidential initiative “100 Days of Health” which provided services to the council employees. This was coordinated with Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Atta, Deputy Minister of Health in Luxor, and Dr. Sahar Abu Al-Wafa Magli, coordinator of the “100 Days of Health” presidential initiatives at the Luxor Health Directorate.
