Dubai Police seized a modified minibus transporting gas cylinders in a dangerous and illegal manner in Al Quoz Industrial area.

Traffic patrols stopped a minibus carrying a large number of gas cylinders after its seats were removed to accommodate the cylinders in violation of safety regulations.

Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Traffic Department, stated that the vehicle was seized during inspection campaigns in Al Quoz Industrial. The inspection revealed dozens of cylinders stored inside the vehicle, posing a serious risk to the driver and road users in case of collision, leakage, or unsafe storage, which could cause explosions or fires.

He added that immediate measures were taken to confiscate and impound the vehicle and refer the driver to the relevant authorities for legal action. Dubai Police emphasize the importance of monitoring such dangerous behaviors that threaten road safety and community security, intensifying surveillance on internal and external roads and conducting continuous traffic campaigns to catch violators.

Brig. Gen. Jumaa bin Suwaidan warned drivers against violating traffic laws and urged adherence to rules, especially prohibiting loading vehicles with hazardous materials. He stressed that such acts are crimes punishable by law and can cause disasters threatening lives.

He also called on the community to cooperate with Dubai Police by reporting suspicious or reckless behavior on roads through the “We Are All Police” service at 901 or via the Dubai Police smart app, emphasizing that community awareness and positive participation are key pillars in enhancing traffic safety in the emirate.
