The ancestors were self-sufficient, cultivating the land and growing various vegetables and fruits, caring for it, and the land generously provided them with its produce. Houses were full of the earth’s bounty, shared among people, animals, and birds. When a guest arrived, the farmer would immediately go to the farm to pick some okra or molokhia, along with onions and eggplants, and gather radishes or arugula. Then he would visit the pen to choose a rooster or a chicken for the feast, offering the guest the best food from his farm and pen. Although times have changed somewhat, the foundation remains rooted in the countryside, such as beautiful morals and noble customs.
The countryside still generously offers its blessings; the scent of bread from ovens fills the air, and the breeze of green crops flows through the fields, refreshing the soul and invigorating the body with positive feelings and energy. Generosity and chivalry remain hallmarks of the countryside, where hospitality and warm welcomes abound. Passing through these villages, one finds only cheerful faces and smiling expressions. No matter the worries, they dissolve in the magic and beauty of the countryside. The countryside and rural life are a legend celebrated by generations. Psychological comfort, purity, serenity, and contentment are the farmer’s tools to achieve psychological and social peace. Congratulations to our people, the beautiful countryside residents, on this simple and beautiful life.
