English club Manchester City announced the signing of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, after four years spent with the French champions, crowned by winning the UEFA Champions League last season.

The ten-time English champions paid around $40 million to sign the 26-year-old international on a five-year contract, according to press reports. The English club welcomed the new arrival via a post on its official X account: “We are pleased to confirm the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma.” The Italian goalkeeper said: “Joining Manchester City is a special moment I’m proud of,” adding, “I am joining a team full of world-class talents, led by one of the best coaches in football history, Pep Guardiola.”
