Hussein El Shahat, Al Ahly star player, has started his rehabilitation program to recover from a hamstring tendon tear he suffered during Al Ahly’s match against Kahraba Ismailia in the last round of the Nile League, which Al Ahly won 4-2.

Ahmed Gaballah, head of Al Ahly’s medical staff, announced that Hussein El Shahat’s initial treatment period will be no less than 7 weeks, during which he will undergo a rehabilitation and physical therapy program before returning to group training.

According to the medical staff, El Shahat is expected to return to Al Ahly’s squad at the beginning of next December, meaning he will miss several important matches, including Al Ahly’s games in the Egyptian Super Cup as well as league matches against Al Ittihad, Al Masry, and Ismailia.

Hussein El Shahat has played 5 matches this season, scoring one goal in 140 minutes on the pitch for Al Ahly. He shone strongly in the Cairo derby, leading Al Ahly to a 2-1 victory over Zamalek.
