The Public Prosecution renewed the detention of a woman for 15 days pending investigations conducted by the prosecution regarding her accusation of spreading inciting news against the state, participating in a terrorist group established contrary to the law, and using social media to spread false news.
The prosecution charged the accused with crimes including participating in a terrorist group to achieve its goals, receiving funding for terrorist purposes, participating in a criminal agreement aimed at committing a terrorist crime, receiving funding and participating in a criminal agreement, gathering unlawfully, and using private accounts on the internet to commit a crime punishable by law aimed at disturbing public order.
The prosecution attributed to the accused crimes of joining a group established contrary to the law, aiming to call for disabling the constitution and laws and preventing state institutions and public authorities from performing their duties, spreading false news about the political and economic situation in the country to disturb public peace within the framework of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group’s goals, promoting the group’s objectives aimed at undermining confidence in the Egyptian state and its institutions, participating in a terrorist group to achieve its goals, participating in a criminal agreement aimed at committing a terrorist crime, receiving funding and participating in a criminal agreement, and using private accounts on the internet to commit a punishable crime aimed at disturbing public order.
The accused was arrested after security investigations revealed her involvement in crimes related to forming a group established contrary to the law and constitution, targeting the destabilization of the country’s national security.
