Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri is going through a difficult period at Turkish football club Fenerbahçe, as criticism against him has notably increased recently, especially after his poor performance and missed clear chances that could have changed the team’s results, according to Turkish media.

The Turkish site “Fotomac” pointed out that despite the high expectations accompanying En-Nesyri’s transfer, the Moroccan player has not been able to score since September 17, when he scored his last goal in the 2-2 draw against Alanyaspor.

Since then, the “Atlas Lion” has neither scored nor assisted in five consecutive matches, which increased fans’ dissatisfaction expressed through social media and during matches.

According to the same source, Youssef En-Nesyri has started to regret not leaving the club on two previous occasions; first during last summer’s transfer window, and second in the January winter transfer market.

The Turkish site explained that his decision to stay came at the direct request of coach José Mourinho, who rejected attractive offers from Saudi club Al Hilal, initially worth 30 million euros, later rising to 40 million euros.

It is worth noting that Youssef En-Nesyri is currently with the Moroccan national team camp, participating in matches against Bahrain, which the “Atlas Lions” won, and the upcoming match against Congo next Tuesday as part of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.
