The Royal Moroccan Football Federation and FIFA have unveiled the official mascot for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, “Tila,” just days before the tournament kicks off in Morocco from October 17 to November 8.
This edition of the tournament marks a historic milestone as the first-ever FIFA women’s world cup held in North Africa, featuring 24 teams from various continents competing for a global title that reflects the recent growth of women’s football.
The mascot “Tila” embodies the agility of wildcats, a distinctive natural symbol in Morocco. Its name is inspired by the word “Tala,” meaning “mountain” in several Amazigh dialects, symbolizing steadfastness, strength, and connection to nature. “Tila” has a friendly personality, full of determination, agility, and quick wit, reflecting the spirit of the young players participating in the tournament.
Combining strength and grace, “Tila” represents the new generation of women’s football stars expected to deliver impressive performances on the pitch. The mascot will be present in various stadiums and promotional events to energize fans and add a unique character to this major global event.
