A group of students were surprised by the “cancellation of results” of a previous entrance exam for the master’s program at the National School of Arts and Crafts in Casablanca (ENSAM Casablanca), announced at the end of July 2025, which caused their frustration and anger due to what they considered “injustice and unfairness” against them.
According to a complaint received by Hespress from several concerned students, “the candidates had successfully passed the written exam, official lists of successful candidates were published, and they were asked to go to the school to submit the necessary registration documents. However, upon arrival, the administration informed them that the process was postponed until the ministerial decision was issued, assuring that the final lists would not change.”
According to the complaint, Hespress learned from a student source that some staff at the school’s administration refused to give students an “acknowledgment of receipt.” On September 3, 2025, the students were surprised by a new announcement on the school’s official website reopening applications for the master’s program without any explanation or respect for previous commitments.
The students, as stated in their complaint, have evidence supporting their claims, including “photos of announcements and official lists previously published before being removed from the official website,” suggesting that “this is related to the decision published in Official Gazette No. 7430 by the Minister of Higher Education No. 1891.25, issued on 29 Muharram 1447 (July 25, 2025), approving the national pedagogical regulations for the master’s program, which defines the admission conditions.”
Several students who took entrance exams for three master’s tracks: “Master in Digital Engineering for Health Professions,” “Big Data and Internet of Things,” and “Immersive Technologies/Virtual and Augmented Reality,” indicated that “this decision harmed their academic path, especially since some traveled hundreds of kilometers to participate in the exam after investing significant effort and time to pass it successfully, fairly, and deservedly.”
Accordingly, the students hope, in identical statements to Hespress, for “urgent intervention by the concerned authorities to reconsider this decision and ensure respect for the previously announced results, guaranteeing their full academic rights and continuity of their academic path,” emphasizing that “the lists of successful candidates in the written exam were published a few days before the ministerial decision stating that admission to master’s programs is by selection based on application files according to the acceptance criteria specified in the approved track description.”
Hespress tried to contact officials at the ENSAM Casablanca administration but was unable to obtain information or clarifications; meanwhile, it received information indicating “the possibility that the affected students will submit a complaint to the university presidency and the Ministry of Higher Education early next week.”
