Moroccan international Brahim Diaz, a Real Madrid player, has once again confirmed that he does not intend to give up his place in the “royal team” after delivering impressive performances in the limited minutes he has played this season, forcing coach Xabi Alonso to consider giving him a bigger role in the future.

According to a report by the Spanish newspaper “AS,” Diaz is now “demanding his place with numbers,” having contributed to three goals in just 240 minutes, averaging a goal involvement every 80 minutes, highlighting his high effectiveness despite limited appearances.

The same source stated that the Moroccan player scored against Kazakhstan’s Kairat and provided an assist against Villarreal after coming on as a substitute in both matches, earning praise from Real Madrid fans for his fighting mentality, especially since he has not started since mid-September against Real Sociedad.

The newspaper explained that Diaz is experiencing a familiar situation; he previously faced similar challenges after returning from an Italian Milan stint and succeeded in convincing Ancelotti of his abilities through hard work, diligence, and discipline—the same approach he is following now with Alonso.

On the other hand, “AS” pointed out that competition with young Argentine Mastantuono is the main reason for Diaz’s reduced minutes this season, even though Diaz outperforms him statistically (two goals and two assists versus one goal and one assist for Mastantuono in 538 minutes).

The report highlighted that Spanish coach Xabi Alonso trusts Diaz and considers him an important piece in his high-pressing, vertical play style, confirming that the Basque coach played a key role in extending the player’s contract until 2030, although the club has not yet officially announced this.

The newspaper concluded by emphasizing that Brahim Diaz is handling the current phase calmly and believes that hard work is the only way to regain his place in the starting lineup amid strong competition for attacking positions within the royal team.

It is worth mentioning that Diaz started for the Moroccan national team against Bahrain last Thursday at the Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, in a friendly match that the “Atlas Lions” won 1-0. He will also be present in the upcoming match against Congo next Tuesday at the same stadium, as part of the final round of World Cup qualifiers.
