SpaceX, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, postponed again on Monday the test flight of its giant Starship rocket, designed to travel to the Moon and Mars, due to bad weather conditions. The launch, initially delayed on Sunday due to a ground system malfunction, faced another setback as weather conditions prevented the launch. The 120-meter-tall rocket has encountered repeated technical and weather-related challenges. This tenth test flight is highly anticipated after three earlier tests this year ended in explosions. Musk aims to use Starship for Mars colonization and NASA’s Artemis program to return Americans to the Moon. Despite successes in recovering the rocket’s first stage, the entire spacecraft has yet to prove reliability. Musk warned that SpaceX still faces thousands of technical challenges, including refueling in space and building a fully reusable thermal shield.
