The October Gardens City Authority announced the completion of the first phase of the permanent water network project to supply drinking water to the northern and southern areas of Somid in the city, three months ahead of schedule. The project is divided into two axes; the first has been completed and entered service in July 2025, serving city areas along Al-Wahat Road from Nilesat Road to Zewail Road, consisting of high-density polyethylene pipes with diameters of 800, 600, and 300 mm totaling 5,280 meters. The second axis is 95% complete and expected to be connected and operational next month, serving the Companies Axis along Italian District Road, 247 and 1185 buildings, Dahshour, and Club Street near the former Zamalek Club land. The project includes pipes of 1200, 1000, 700, 600, and 500 mm diameters with a total length of 6,470 meters and 22 valve chambers for washing, air, and maneuvers on the lines.
