The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has completed a series of traffic improvements at 10 school locations covering 27 schools across the emirate. These improvements included widening roads leading to the Al Warqa school complex, creating parking spaces for teaching staff and parents in Al Mizhar and Al Barsha, installing pedestrian signals, and implementing traffic calming measures near schools. These works were carried out during the summer break to minimize daily traffic disruption and ensure the highest safety standards. The measures have increased parking capacity by 90% and improved traffic flow around some schools by 25 to 40%. The RTA urged bus drivers and parents to adhere to traffic safety procedures when dropping off and picking up students, use designated areas, avoid random stopping in special needs or emergency vehicle spots, and observe speed limits and traffic signs.
