The General Union of Land Transport issued a decisive statement today responding to what it described as “false information and defamation campaigns” circulating on social media platforms regarding the ownership of a piece of land belonging to it in the Corniche Nile area in Al-Ma’sara.

The union affirmed in its statement, signed by the chairman and board members, that the land is fully owned by it according to the notarized contract No. 1689 of 1949. It categorically denied allegations promoted by a person claiming ownership as a legal heir.

The statement clarified that these circulated claims are not new but were previously subject to a legal dispute resolved by courts in favor of the union. It revealed that the claimant filed a lawsuit No. 1200 of 2022 Civil Helwan demanding the eviction of the union from the land, but the court rejected the case. The claimant appealed under No. 1806 of 141, which also upheld the initial ruling.

The union added that the same person filed another lawsuit No. 2103 of 2024, which the court dismissed on April 30, 2025, confirming the legal position of the General Union of Land Transport.

The union stressed that all published contradictory information is merely “to cause confusion and defame the union’s chairman and members.”

It warned anyone involved in spreading these false claims, confirming that it has already taken all necessary legal measures and will pursue anyone who contributed or assisted in this defamation to protect its rights and property. It also urged everyone to be accurate, cautious, and not to be misled by rumors that may expose their owners to legal accountability.
