German coach Hans Flick, head of FC Barcelona, won the Coach of the Year award at the renowned Sport Bild newspaper ceremony held in Hamburg, attended by about 600 prominent sports figures. Flick could not attend in person and participated via live broadcast from the “Barça Studio” in Barcelona. He spoke candidly about his work at a club of Barcelona’s stature, emphasizing the importance of a strong technical staff and daily interaction with players as key to his success. This award crowns an exceptional first season where he led the team to a domestic treble (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Super Cup) and reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals. Flick was also named the best coach in La Liga for the 2024-25 season and is a candidate for the Johan Cruyff Award for the best coach in the world.
