Ahmed El-Sayed, former Al Ahly star, confirmed that Pyramids’ start in the Egyptian Premier League this season suggests they will be out of the title race. He said in a radio statement: “Pyramids’ start in the league is not good, and I feel the players are entering the league with a sense of saturation due to winning the CAF Champions League.” He added: “The competition this season will be only between Al Ahly and Zamalek, and Pyramids’ poor start indicates the rivalry will be limited to these two teams.” He continued: “Alfina is a distinguished player with confidence and abilities that will be a strong addition to Zamalek, whose performance so far in the league is very good.”
