The Al Ahly men’s handball team delegation departs for Bosnia and Herzegovina early Monday to participate in the Bosnia and Herzegovina International Tournament starting August 13, in preparation for the new season. Al Ahly is grouped alongside Hungary’s Veszprém and Turkey’s Beşiktaş, participating under the leadership of returning Spanish coach David Davis. Recently, Al Ahly officially signed players Mohamed Nabil Oka and Ali Al-Fouli to strengthen the team for the new season, with the return of Marwan Hatem from loan at Ademar León in Spain. The club also signed Ahmed Awad from Smouha during the current summer transfer window. Al Ahly secured Mohamed Emad Oka from Tala’ea El-Gaish for four seasons. The club finalized the signing of 17-year-old Mazen Ahmed Abdel Ghani from Port Said and 17-year-old Seif Amr from Al Mokawloon to strengthen the left back position.
Additionally, Al Ahly completed the signing of former Zamalek player Mohamed El-Basyouni, who recently played professionally for Al Wasl in the UAE, on a free transfer. The Egyptian Handball Federation scheduled the local Super Cup for December 11 and 12, featuring Al Ahly, Zamalek, Sporting, and Smouha. On Sunday afternoon, the draw for the new 2025-2026 professional men’s handball league was redone at the federation headquarters in 6th of October City. The competition will start on August 29 for both professionals and affiliated teams. The draw was redone following recommendations from Spanish national team coach Pascual, who requested some weeks have only one round instead of two to allow weekly gatherings for the Pharaohs.
