Mobilization simply means converting most of the state’s capabilities in general, and military capabilities in particular, from a “peace” phase to a “war” phase to face expected or imagined internal and external threats, whether human or natural.
Military mobilization includes security, human, financial, political, economic, social, and media capabilities to serve national readiness and enhance the state’s ability to confront risks and achieve the supreme interest.
Military mobilization is a pivotal decision to face a potential threat or to implement certain plans. For several months, especially after its disastrous failure to eliminate the Palestinian resistance, Israel has been trying to occupy Gaza entirely.
The Israeli mini-cabinet extended on March 2, 2025, the validity of “reserve mobilization,” allowing the call-up of up to 400,000 reserve soldiers until May 29, 2025.
On August 8, the government approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to invade Gaza, the central camps, and forcibly displace one million Palestinians southward, despite international and domestic opposition to this insane and retaliatory plan.
Two days later, Netanyahu granted Defense Minister Yisrael Katz the authority to call up nearly 430,000 reserve soldiers until the end of November, preparing for the Gaza occupation.
Leaks now confirm that six Israeli military divisions will participate in the ground war to occupy Gaza and transfer its residents to “shelters” and aid distribution centers a month and a half before the anticipated operation.
Examining Israel’s military capabilities from specialized centers shows it has 173,000 active soldiers and more than 465,000 reservists.
It has 595 fighter, drone, and helicopter aircraft, all with advanced technological capabilities.
It also owns 1,650 tanks, about 7,500 combat armored vehicles, approximately 950 self-propelled and field artillery pieces, and other modern equipment.
Assuming the use of at least 600,000 Israeli soldiers in the upcoming attack means that every civilian in Gaza will face three soldiers equipped with the latest weapons, not counting thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft.
Given these facts, troubling questions arise:
– What is the purpose of mobilizing hundreds of thousands of fighters against about one and a half million unarmed civilians in Gaza?
– Has Gaza become a threat to Israeli existence after enduring for a year and ten months, prompting their desire to erase it?
– How will Israel transfer over a million people southward despite resistance and destruction, and how will it handle these huge numbers, including the sick and elderly? Will it crush them, resulting in deaths, injuries, disabilities, captivity, displacement, and pursuit, as if it has not already satisfied its hatred with over 120,000 Palestinians killed, disabled, or missing over 679 days?
– Will Gaza’s residents surrender as easily as Israel imagines, or will lethal force be used to achieve the plan?
– Is Netanyahu rushing toward a full-scale war to save face and avoid facing the repercussions of internal anger, especially regarding prisoners held by the resistance?
– Finally, military mobilization, according to military literature, is declared during decisive wars and massive threats. Are these conditions present in Gaza now?
It seems Israel wants to declare mobilization to escape the weak situation resulting from the steadfast resistance refusing to surrender or retreat.
For this reason, Israeli Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said Netanyahu’s plan would “endanger the hostages’ lives” and send Israeli soldiers into a “death trap.”
Do you now understand the amount of fear in the hearts and minds of Israeli leaders?
The anticipated Gaza operation will increase Israel’s isolation and abort any attempt to rescue its captives held by the resistance, possibly without even recovering their bodies, which will open the door to massive protests in Israeli cities.
The serious developments require the international community and Arab and Islamic countries to hasten to save Gaza’s civilians from an imminent Israeli massacre and stop the war before the world faces a new massacre in a month and a half that may exceed all expectations in quantity, type, and brutality!
