The diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, Anwar Gargash, expressed the UAE’s hope to achieve a ceasefire and establish peace in Ukraine following the Putin-Trump summit in Alaska, according to Russia Today.
Gargash wrote on his X platform account:
“The international system seeks stability and an end to wars, and dialogue is the best way to resolve conflicts. The prolonged Ukrainian war has exacerbated instability and claimed thousands of lives. The UAE, through its wise diplomacy, played a pivotal role in 16 prisoner exchange mediations between Russia and Ukraine, releasing more than 4,300 prisoners.”
He concluded his tweet saying: “We hope that President Donald Trump’s efforts will succeed towards a ceasefire and peace.”
