The Plastic Arts Sector, in collaboration with the Cultural Development Fund Sector, opens the “Voice of Egypt” exhibition at the Arts Complex (Aisha Fahmy Palace) at 8 PM on Monday. The exhibition includes creations by 25 Egyptian artists from different generations who drew inspiration from the voice and biography of the Arab singing icon Umm Kulthum. The works vary between painting and sculpture, reflecting the inspiration she provided to successive generations.
The exhibition also covers Umm Kulthum’s biography through documentation in the Egyptian press over a century, displaying original pages from newspapers and magazines that tracked her prolific artistic career.
Visitors also have the opportunity to see some of Umm Kulthum’s rare possessions through original items displayed from the Umm Kulthum Museum in Manial, offering a complete artistic and cultural experience blending visual arts with Egypt’s singing memory.
Participating artists include George Bahgory, Salah Taher, Gamal El-Sagini, and Saif Wanly.
The exhibition aims to present a comprehensive image of Umm Kulthum’s life and career by integrating historical research with artistic creativity.
