Habiba Abdel Azim, a student from Gharbia Governorate, embodied an inspiring story of persistence and challenge, as she managed to transform her struggle with illness into creative energy through her brush and colors, becoming a promising artist confidently stepping towards the future. Her journey culminated in a special honor from Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, the First Lady.
Habiba, a second-year secondary student, revealed that her journey with art began amid significant health challenges. She said, “I faced difficult health conditions and underwent many surgeries, so I had to find a way to occupy my time and channel my energy into something positive. I found in painting my refuge to express my creativity and share it.”
During an interview on Extra News channel, Habiba explained that her relationship with art goes beyond a mere hobby; colors bring her joy. She added, “I love colors; they give me happiness, and whenever I develop my drawing and use new materials and techniques, I feel like I enter another world.”
Regarding her honor from Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi during the “My Family is My Role Model” celebration, Habiba described the meeting as “the greatest prize” she received, expressing pride in presenting a portrait she painted of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. She passionately added, “It was an honor for me to paint him, and I was preparing for this work hoping to meet him one day,” confirming that her biggest dream is to meet the President personally and that she is currently working on a portrait of Mrs. Entissar.
About her artistic style, Habiba confirmed that she draws inspiration from global artists like Van Gogh and Picasso but always strives to add her personal touch. She said, “I watch the works of great artists and take ideas from them, but I like to distinguish my paintings with a different style and not just copy them as they are.”
Habiba did not overlook her family’s role in her journey, describing their support as “a major and essential factor,” noting they were always by her side, providing necessary materials and encouraging her to continue, alongside her trainers who helped refine her talent.
Habiba looks to the future with optimism, planning to study languages at university while continuing to develop her artistic talent through specialized courses, proving that willpower can turn the toughest challenges into the most beautiful achievements.
