Amman, August 11 (Petra) – The kingdom remains under the influence of a heatwave today, Monday, with dusty conditions in some areas. The weather is hot over the high mountain elevations and very hot in other areas. By midday, the kingdom will gradually be affected by atmospheric instability, with scattered rain showers expected accompanied by occasional thunder. Rainfall may be heavy for short periods in the south and east. Winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, moderate in speed, occasionally active, especially in desert areas, causing dust. The Meteorological Department warns against prolonged direct sun exposure during peak hours, slippery roads due to rain, flash floods in valleys and low areas in the south and east, and reduced horizontal visibility due to dust, especially in desert areas and sometimes complete lack of visibility on external roads.
Citizens are advised not to leave children inside closed vehicles even for a short time, not to leave fire remnants or cigarette butts in forested areas, not to leave flammable materials inside vehicles, and to increase fluid intake, especially water. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather remains hot over high mountain elevations and very hot elsewhere, with clouds at various altitudes. Atmospheric instability may renew by midday with scattered rain showers expected, possibly heavy and accompanied by thunder in the south and east. Winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly, moderate to occasionally active, especially in desert areas, causing dust. Temperatures slightly decrease on Thursday but remain hot over high mountain elevations and very hot elsewhere, with some high clouds and northwesterly winds moderate to occasionally active in the east.
