The city of Marib witnessed today, Saturday, a large women’s event to welcome and honor Fatima Ghalib Al-Masouri, wife of Sheikh Saleh Hantous, who was assassinated by the Houthi militia in his home in Raymah Governorate in early July.

The event was attended by a large gathering of free women and mothers of Marib, alongside community leaders and public figures, in a scene that expressed national cohesion and the role of Yemeni women in confronting the militia’s project and defending republican values.

In her speech, Al-Masouri expressed her gratitude to the women of Marib for this grand reception, affirming her continuation of her husband’s path and the struggle until the state is restored and the militia is defeated, while the attendees chanted national slogans affirming loyalty to the martyrs.

The event carried political and moral messages, most notably that the assassination of Sheikh Hantous did not end his mission, but it was inherited by his wife who continued to carry the banner of a firm stance, amid praise for her steadfastness which participants considered an extension of the history of Yemeni women in achieving victory and supporting the battlefronts.

Social media users praised the great celebration organized by Yemeni women in Marib for Fatima Al-Masouri, considering that this grand presence embodies the loyalty of Yemeni women to those who stood firm against the Iranian-backed Houthi militia.

The Houthi militia had launched an armed campaign on the home of Sheikh Saleh Hantous in Raymah Governorate in early July, which led to his killing, a crime widely condemned and described as a “field execution” of a well-known preacher who taught the Quran and had wide connections with the people of his region.
