Egyptian director Shady El-Fakharany revealed the reason behind his father, the renowned actor Yehia El-Fakharany’s absence from an honoring ceremony held by the British University in Cairo, which recognized his distinguished artistic career. He denied rumors about any health issues.

In an exclusive statement to Okaz, Shady El-Fakharany explained that his father apologized for not attending due to his commitment to filming his latest theatrical work “King Lear,” emphasizing that he was keen to participate in the event if not for his work schedule.

El-Fakharany stressed that his father is in good health and does not suffer from any health problems as rumored, expressing gratitude to the festival’s management for the honor.

It is worth noting that Yehia El-Fakharany returned to perform the play “King Lear” for the third time on the National Theatre stage, after its first performance in 2001 on the same stage, and then again in 2019 with the private sector.

Alongside Yehia El-Fakharany, the play stars Tarek El-Desouki, Adel Khalaf, Tamer El-Kashef, Reem Abdel Halim, Tarek Sharaf, Mohamed El-Azazy, and Mohamed Hassan.
