The national U-17 girls’ football team will face Bangladesh today at 7 PM at Aqaba Development Stadium to kick off their journey in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers.
The national team competes in Group 8, which also includes the Chinese Taipei team.
Coach Jamal Al-Laham said during the press conference for the Asian qualifiers: The team has reached the required readiness after a preparation period that included continuous training and several internal and external training camps.
He added: I have great confidence in our players to perform excellently during the tournament and achieve the desired goal.
He concluded: We respect all participating teams and believe in our chances to advance and secure qualification for the continental finals.
The team roster includes: Renata Al-Badayneh, Malak Taleb, Rina Abu Jaber, Iman Al-Tmeizi, Jayda Kamal, Jana Al-Muhtaseb, Rital Salama, Lian Al-Dmour, Sadeen Obeidat, Sadeen Al-Damen, Lia Marar, Noha Al-Qaisi, Riana Issa, Celine Ghazal, Malak Salama, Lin Abu Halwa, Lin Al-Qaisi, Lamar Youssef, Haya Abu Ali, Mira Jarrar, Jana Al-Masri, Alma Al-Saifi, and Dana Abu Hazim.
27 Asian teams participate in the qualifiers, divided into 8 groups: 3 groups with 4 teams each and 5 groups with 3 teams each.
The group winners qualify for the finals, joining four teams that have automatically qualified through their participation in the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco: North Korea, Japan, South Korea, and China. This completes the lineup of 12 teams for the 10th edition, an increase of four teams compared to the previous edition.
The AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup finals will be held in China from April 30 to May 17, 2026.
