The Balqa Governorate team won the title of the “Amman Arab Youth Capital 2025” five-a-side football championship for youth, organized by the Ministry of Youth with the participation of 724 teams from all governorates of the kingdom.

Balqa team won the title after defeating its counterpart Ma’an in a penalty shootout (5-4). The Ajloun Governorate team took third place, while the Capital Governorate team came in fourth.

The closing ceremony of the championship was sponsored by the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Al-Adwan, who emphasized during the final match and the award ceremony, held the day before yesterday at the Sports Palace Hall in the Hussein Youth City, in the presence of Colonel Fadi Abu Khait, Director of the Stadium Security Unit, Lieutenant Colonel Engineer Abdul Baset Ata Al-Jabli, Director of Operations at the Civil Defense Directorate, Raed Mirza, Director of Hussein Youth City, and Bassam Al-Khalayleh, Minister’s Advisor for Stadium Affairs, alongside several ministry directors, security officials, and heads of clubs and youth organizations. He highlighted the importance of the championship in promoting positive competition spirit and national belonging among youth, praising the outstanding level shown by the participating teams at all stages.

He added that the ministry will continue organizing youth and sports activities that support Jordanian youth and develop and refine their skills.

The championship, held over three weeks, witnessed strong competition among the participating teams through its three stages: the first stage at the district level, the second at the governorate level, and the third and final at the kingdom level.

Player Amir Issam from the Ajloun Governorate team won the top scorer award, while goalkeeper Mohammad Al-Alimat from the Zarqa Governorate team won the best goalkeeper award.
