The national team ended the first half of their match against visiting Guinea-Bissau leading by a clean goal.
The match is part of the tenth and final round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
Mohamed Hamdi, the left-back, scored the opening goal in the 10th minute, marking his first international goal for Pyramids FC.
The Egyptian team dominated the game significantly and missed several dangerous scoring opportunities, while the Guinea-Bissau team also launched attacks seeking to score.
Egypt had already secured qualification officially in the previous match after defeating Djibouti 3-0 in the ninth round.
The coaching staff, led by Hossam Hassan, fielded a lineup including: Mohamed Sobhi, Mohamed Hany, Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Hany, Mohand Lashien, Ahmed Nabil Koka, Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”, Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, Mostafa Mohamed, and Ibrahim Adel.
