The Coordination of Resistance Committees in Al-Fashir warned on Saturday about the deteriorating humanitarian and security situation in the city, noting injuries among civilians with severe symptoms suggesting the use of “internationally banned gases or chemical agents” during the ongoing bombardment.
The coordination stated in a post on Facebook that “more than 10 people, including women and children, suffer from severe shortness of breath and repeated nausea” as a result of what they described as “bombing that does not distinguish between young and old, nor between shelter centers or mosques.”
In this “difficult time,” the coordination confirmed that safety is not guaranteed for those who choose to stay nor for those who decide to leave, sending a clear message to residents: “Whoever wants to leave, let them leave, and whoever wants to stay, let them stay,” stressing that “the sky is fire, the earth is shrinking, and the enemy knows no mercy.”
The Coordination of Resistance Committees affirmed its firm stance rejecting withdrawal, stating: “As for us and those who remain with us, we will stay and resist this tyranny until the last breath. We will not leave the land nor kneel… We will continue to carry in our chests the remaining pulse of this homeland and write the lines of pride with our blood.” They called on civilians to make their own decisions, acknowledging “the magnitude of the pain” and the value of “steadfastness.”
