Today’s sports bulletin on Saturday, October 11, 2025, featured several important sports news, notably Ferreira seeking a solution to Zamalek players’ payment crisis with Hussein Labib, and Virus A leading Al Ahly’s vaccinations before traveling to Burundi due to Imam Ashour.
Belgian coach Yannick Ferreira, head coach of Zamalek’s first football team, inquired with Hussein Labib, the club’s chairman, about the status of the delayed payments for players and the technical staff.
Hussein Labib promised Ferreira to resolve the crisis as soon as possible, confirming that the board is working hard to find solutions to this severe issue, with an expected resolution soon.
Zamalek players received part of their overdue payments last week, and the technical staff received salaries for only two months, while the board is working to provide the remaining dues promptly.
Hussein Labib held a meeting with Ferreira, attended by John Edward, the club’s sports director, during which they reviewed the first team’s situation following recent poor results and discussed preparations before the Confederation Cup campaign this season.
They agreed to hold another session with Ferreira next week to discuss the team’s needs for the upcoming period and work on regaining victories, achieving results, and delivering performances that meet Zamalek fans’ aspirations.
The Egyptian national football team concluded its preparations on Saturday evening to face Guinea-Bissau in the tenth round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup, scheduled for 10 PM Sunday at Cairo Stadium.
Egypt qualified for the World Cup for the fourth time in its history after defeating Djibouti 3-0 last Wednesday at the Arabi Zouali Stadium in Morocco, as part of the ninth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Ahmed Gaballah, head of Al Ahly’s medical staff, decided to provide the team players with a series of vaccinations before traveling to Burundi on a private plane, in preparation for the match against “Eagle Noir” in the first leg of the CAF Champions League round of 32.
At the top of the vaccinations is the Virus A vaccine, which Imam Ashour contracted, causing his long absence from Al Ahly matches.
The technical staff set October 15 or 16 as the travel date to Burundi for the awaited match.
