An open session was held to appoint medical deputies from the 2023 graduates of Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine – Cairo University. The session began with announcing the number of vacant positions allocated to Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine and the Oncology Institute affiliated with Cairo University Hospitals, totaling 230 positions, divided as follows:

    • 145 vacancies in clinical departments at Kasr Al-Ainy Hospital.
    • 71 vacancies in academic departments.
    • 14 clinical positions at the Oncology Institute.

These positions were previously announced through the Organization and Administration Authority, and applicants were ranked according to their total scores.

The session was held under the patronage and presence of Dr. Hossam Salah Murad, Dean of Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Hospitals Board, supervised and followed up by Prof. Dr. Hossam Hosni, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and attended by Prof. Dr. Iman Fouad, Deputy Executive Director for Training and Education Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Dalia Kadry, Executive Director of Oncology Institute Hospitals.

The session started with a welcoming speech by Dr. Hossam Salah, expressing his gratitude to the graduates and confirming his full support. He emphasized that not obtaining the desired specialty does not mean the end of ambition, but true success can be achieved through creativity and excellence in the available specialty, making it beloved to the individual, which is one of the highest meanings of success. He also stressed the importance of benefiting from the scientific and practical expertise provided by the faculty and university hospitals, wishing all graduates success in their future careers.

Dr. Hossam Hosni praised the appointment process for its organization and discipline, confirming the university hospitals’ keenness to support new doctors and provide a work and training environment befitting Kasr Al-Ainy’s mission and its long history of serving patients and society.

The session witnessed precise and effective organization to ensure easy selection of specialties aligned with the needs of university hospitals, considering the principle of equal opportunities and ranking graduates according to their merits. Efforts were made to prepare a suitable environment supporting doctors and providing training and educational pathways qualifying them for professional excellence.
