The Media Center of the Ministry of Local Development issued its weekly infographic, edition number 157, highlighting the main activities and events led by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, during the period from October 3 to 9, 2025. These included meetings, events, and monitoring of developmental and service projects across various governorates.
Dr. Manal Awad directed the referral of several officials in the centers and cities of Zagazig, Belbeis, Deirb Negm, and First District of Zagazig in Sharqia Governorate to the competent prosecution, due to serious violations related to unlicensed buildings and encroachments on state property.
This was part of the work of the committee formed by the minister’s decision to follow up on spatial changes, engineering management, property, legalization, reconciliation, and building violations in the governorates.
The minister announced the launch of the ninth week of the 2025/2026 training plan at the Local Development Center in Saqqara, which included three specialized programs with the participation of 157 trainees from various governorates.
She also participated in the opening of the seventh edition of the “Our Heritage 2025” exhibition under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, attended by the Prime Minister, several ministers, and development partners.
Dr. Manal Awad sent congratulatory telegrams to President El-Sisi, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Defense on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the glorious October victory.
The minister participated in the main committee meeting for legalizing the status of churches, chaired by the Prime Minister, which resulted in the legalization of 160 churches and new service buildings, raising the total to 3,613 churches and buildings since the committee began its work.
She also took part in the Supreme Energy Council meeting and met with the Governor of Fayoum to follow up on developmental projects and climate adaptation plans.
The minister attended the graduation ceremony of about 600 students from the German International University in the Administrative Capital.
She reviewed a report on the inspection and follow-up sector’s efforts during last September, which included 87 inspection campaigns in 7 governorates, examining citizens’ complaints about encroachments and financial and administrative violations.
She also participated in the Supreme Committee for Participation Affairs meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, to discuss ways to enhance private sector participation in economic and service activities.
Dr. Manal Awad received a report on the executive status of the fourth phase of the presidential initiative to plant “100 million trees,” which saw the planting of 18,000 trees in Kafr El-Sheikh and Dakahlia, alongside the development of the Shaarawy axis in the Sayeda Nafisa area.
She also followed up on field inspection works by monitoring teams in Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia governorates, participated in the 61st Cabinet meeting, and joined the ministerial group for human development chaired by the Minister of Health.
The minister received Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar, President of the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, to discuss cooperation in local development, environment, and human capacity building.
She also reviewed the General Administration of Internal Audit report on visits to seven technology centers in the Red Sea Governorate and announced the allocation of a window for investor services to support the investment climate and facilitate procedures in the governorates.
The minister followed up on the progress of the 2025/2026 training plan at the Saqqara Center, with the participation of Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, in a workshop to exchange experiences within the program for preparing heads of centers, cities, and districts, attended by ministry leaders and the Local Development Center.
