The number of teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals has reached 20, after Algeria qualified for the fifth time in its history on Thursday evening.

Algeria joined the list of teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, after defeating Somalia 3-0 in the ninth round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup.

The Desert Warriors became the 20th team to secure their place in the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

The Algerian team has now qualified for the World Cup for the fifth time in its history, having previously participated in 1982, 1986, 2010, and 2014.

It is worth noting that the 2026 World Cup draw will be held on December 5.
