The duo Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team, and Mohamed El-Shenawy, Al Ahly’s goalkeeper, continue to top the list of players with the most appearances for the Pharaohs during the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, having been key players in all nine matches the team has played so far.

Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet – 7 matches

Led by coach Hossam Hassan, the Egyptian national team secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup after an important victory over Djibouti in the match held at the Al Arabi Al Zawali Stadium in Morocco yesterday evening, in the ninth and penultimate round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The squad selected by Hossam Hassan included 24 players who earned the honor of qualifying with the team for the fourth time in the Pharaohs’ history, as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, Mohamed Sobhi, Abdel Aziz Belouty.

Defenders: Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Eid, Rami Rabia, Khaled Sobhi, Yasser Ibrahim, Amr El-Gazzar, Hossam Abdel Meguid, Mohamed Hamdy.

Midfielders: Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Marwan Attia, Hamdi Fathi, Mohanad Lasheen, Mahmoud Saber, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Mahmoud Trezeguet, Ibrahim Adel, Mostafa Fathi.
