Canva AI, the online design tool equipped with the company’s AI features, has expanded its language support by adding 16 new languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, and Spanish.

This update allows users who prefer their native language to access various AI tools in those languages, and users can submit requests in supported languages to receive accurate results.

Previously, Canva AI only supported English. In a press release, the company announced that the interactive AI assistant, launched in April 2025, now supports additional languages. Alongside English, it now supports Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

The language expansion is not superficial; Canva’s AI assistant now supports 31 languages, meaning it can understand local traditions and cultural nuances to produce contextually accurate outputs.

The company did not specify all 31 supported languages but noted that Canva AI can now respond and generate outputs even when users provide voice requests in supported languages.

Regarding the platform’s expansion, the company said, “If someone in Tokyo requests a professional presentation, Canva AI will consider Japanese design tastes, and if someone in Mumbai requests a festive poster, Canva AI will draw on culturally relevant visual elements.”

The company highlighted Canva AI’s popularity, stating that these tools have been used over 20 billion times since launch, making it one of the platform’s fastest-growing offerings. Canva also announced it surpassed $3.3 billion in annual revenue and reached 240 million global users.

Simply put, Canva is an online design tool that can replace traditional design software like Photoshop and is accessible directly through the company’s official website.

Additionally, Canva AI enables creating designs, images, document drafts, front-end focused code writing, and video creation based on Google’s Veo 3 AI model. AI tools can also remove and expand backgrounds, erase elements, reposition them, perform local edits, and much more. Canva AI is a premium feature available with all platform subscriptions.
