Spanish club Real Madrid announced the official diagnosis of the injury sustained by their right-back Dani Carvajal during yesterday’s (Saturday) match against Atlético Madrid, part of the seventh round of La Liga.

The club stated on its official website: “Medical examinations conducted by the club’s medical team revealed that our player Dani Carvajal has an injury in the soleus muscle (plantar muscle) of the right leg.”

Real Madrid did not specify the duration of Carvajal’s absence, but the Spanish newspaper “Marca” indicated that the player will be sidelined for up to four weeks, increasing the team’s difficulties in the right-back position, especially with the alternative Alexander-Arnold also injured.

Real Madrid suffered their first defeat this season, losing to their neighbor Atlético Madrid 5-2 in the match held at the “Wanda Metropolitano” stadium.

The royal team’s points remain frozen at 18 from 7 matches, threatening their lead in La Liga, as Barcelona, with 16 points from 6 matches, prepares to face Real Sociedad today (Sunday).
