English winger Jack Grealish, currently on loan at Everton from Manchester City, admitted to choosing inappropriate times for partying and staying out late during the four years he spent with Pep Guardiola’s squad.

The player, who failed to live up to his £100 million transfer fee and scored only 17 goals in 157 matches, said: “I love going out and partying, but obviously there is a right time and place for that, and I admit that sometimes I didn’t choose the right time at City. However, I believe partying wasn’t the only reason; maybe I lost the fans’ love, and I’m only at my best when I have that love. Coach Moyes also gives me freedom, and I’m the type—not arrogant, but someone who likes the coach to encourage him and say: You are the player, and you go in and do what you want when you get the ball.”

Grealish’s statements came ahead of Everton’s away match against West Ham on Monday evening under their new coach Nuno Espírito Santo. Everton enters the match in 12th place after achieving only two wins in five rounds.
