The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) announced the suspension of Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid defender, for two matches in the UEFA Champions League.

Carvajal was sent off during the first group stage match against Marseille after assaulting goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

As a result, the Real Madrid player will miss the match against Kazakhstan’s Kairat Almaty, scheduled for Tuesday evening, a game he was already set to miss due to injury sustained during the recent match against Atletico Madrid.

The second match of the suspension will be against Juventus on October 22.

The 33-year-old has played 8 matches for Real Madrid this season across various competitions.

Carvajal returned to play a few weeks ago after suffering a cruciate ligament injury that sidelined him for a long period.
