The operators of the Russian video streaming service Rutube announced that the app for Android TV devices is once again available on the Google Play Store.

A statement from the service’s press office said: “Owners of Android TV devices can download the official Rutube app via the Google Play Store. The latest version of the app with full functionality is now available for download.”

The statement also noted that the Rutube app for TVs can be downloaded through the official RuStore on any smart TV device, and that the app’s views from January to August this year exceeded 33 billion, which is 6.2 times higher than the views recorded in the same period last year.

The Rutube app disappeared from the Google Play Store in the fall of last year, including the app store for smart TVs. In October last year, the operators announced the app’s return, initially only available for Google Play users in the United States. In August, the app became available for download on Google Play for Android smartphones, and now it is available for Android TV devices.

Rutube is considered one of the most important video streaming platforms worldwide and a major competitor to YouTube. The platform offers diverse content including videos on various topics, as well as movies and series.
