Kuwait hosted the cultural “Moscow Seasons” festival in its first edition in the Middle East. Visitors had the opportunity to experience traditional Russian tea and learn about Russian cultural heritage, as well as plan a future trip to Moscow during winter. The musical concert by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra was the festival’s highlight. The festival attracted more than 375,000 visitors, reflecting the Kuwaiti public’s strong interest in Russian culture.

The “Moscow” pavilion at the country’s largest shopping center, The Avenues Mall, was a major attraction. Attendees enjoyed live musical performances by local bands playing the balalaika and singing folk songs, alongside the “Tea Time in Moscow” pavilion offering visitors distinctive types of tea, sweets, and traditional candies. Everyone also had the chance to take a virtual tour of the Russian capital’s streets and participate in cultural competitions.

The photo exhibition “A Winter Tale in Moscow” showcased the beauty of Moscow in winter. Visitors at the exhibition hall could also express their wishes to travel to the Russian capital in the future.

Abdulrahman Badah Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Minister of Information, Culture, and State Minister for Youth Affairs, said: “I am pleased to be with you tonight at this cultural event, where the Moscow Symphony Orchestra presents one of its wonderful artistic performances, reflecting the distinguished level of relations between Kuwait and the Russian Federation, in addition to the deep historical ties between our friendly countries.”

Vladimir Giltov, Russian Ambassador to Kuwait, said: “Moscow today is one of the greatest cities in the world. It is a vibrant and developed city that also preserves its rich historical and cultural heritage. Millions of visitors from around the world come to visit Moscow, and we are very pleased with the increasing number of tourists coming from the Gulf region, including tourists from Kuwait.”

Evgeny Kozlov, First Deputy Head of the Moscow Mayor’s Office and Chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee, confirmed: “The ‘Moscow Seasons in Kuwait’ festival is an excellent example of the efforts made by the Moscow Tourism Committee to establish Moscow as a distinguished tourist destination for visitors from the Middle East.”

Bolat Normukhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Tourism Committee, said: “The ‘Moscow Seasons in Kuwait’ festival, organized under the guidance of the Moscow Mayor and in cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Kuwait, is a broad platform for cultural dialogue and an opportunity to discover Moscow’s rich culture and hospitality.
