Advisor Mohamed Al-Homsani, spokesperson for the Egyptian Cabinet, stated that the “tourism sector” will play an “important role and take a large share” within the package of direct Qatari investments estimated at 7.5 billion dollars.

He indicated in televised remarks on the program “Al-Hayat Al-Youm” that the government will announce the details and fields of the agreements once all details are finalized, which are now in their final stages, emphasizing that this comes as part of the government’s efforts to attract investments from brotherly Arab countries.

He pointed out that the Cabinet, during its meeting on Tuesday, is preparing to launch the “National Narrative for Economic Development,” which represents a comprehensive vision and strategy for the state aimed at completing the path of economic reform until 2030.

He explained that it is a “comprehensive vision for the national economy,” based on several main pillars including achieving macroeconomic stability, attracting foreign direct investment, developing industry, foreign trade and exports, enhancing labor market flexibility, in addition to regional planning for economic development in various regions of the republic.

He confirmed that the vision aims to inaugurate a new phase focusing on “growth and employment” and raising their rates, noting that the strategy will undergo an extensive societal dialogue lasting two months; aiming for its final adoption to serve as a clear roadmap guiding all state institutions and providing local and foreign investors with “clarity about the state’s directions” in the coming years.
