The Russian space agency Roscosmos announced that it will soon send an improved Orlan-MKS spacesuit to the International Space Station via the Progress MS-32 cargo spacecraft, aiming to enhance astronauts’ performance during spacewalks.
The agency described the advanced suit as providing greater comfort during movement for astronauts, featuring a light-colored outer fabric close to white, and an internal water cooling layer in black instead of the traditional blue.
It also noted that the new suit is equipped with all life support systems, allowing astronauts to work for more than eight hours outside the station while maintaining a comfortable temperature thanks to the advanced cooling system.
